NYYC Foundation Creative Proposal
This creative brief outlines a video concept to promote the restoration of the NYYC seawall and boathouse. The video aims to evoke pride, club camaraderie, and a sense of shared responsibility for preserving this historic maritime heritage. By showcasing the seawall and boathouse's significance to the yacht club’s past, present and future, the video seeks to inspire support for the restoration efforts. Through a compelling narrative, captivating visuals, and heartfelt testimonials, this video concept aims to ignite a collective passion for preserving the seawall as well as the iconic properties at Harbour Court and 44th Street collectively.
Preserve the Past, Secure the Future
Our aim is to create a compelling narrative that touches upon three key themes: Preserving History, club gatherings, and legacy for future generations. Within these topics we aim to emphasize the important of enhancing safety of the wall and the importance of water access for members. Through this video, we intend to evoke emotions, spark empathy, and inspire action in viewers, urging them to support the mission of restoring the seawall. With a tagline of "Preserve the Past, Secure the Future," we will convey the significance of this restoration project and how it can shape the legacy of the yacht club for years to come.
Preserving History
Through interviews with longtime club members and individuals with a deep appreciation for history, this segment will highlight the yacht club's rich heritage and the historical value of the seawall. Personal anecdotes, archival photographs, and narrations about the club's legacy will emphasize the importance of preserving this historical landmark, ensuring that future generations can continue to experience its cultural significance.
Club Gatherings
By interviewing families and club members who have fond memories of events held on the yacht club's lawn, this segment will emphasize the significance of the seawall as a safe and communal space for members. This section will also touch upon the potential risks and limitations faced due to the wall's deteriorating condition, creating a sense of urgency for action.
